Its songwriter Brett James' birthday -- listen to his song "Jesus take the wheel" by Carrie Underwood. Written by Brett James, Hillary Lindsey and Gordie Sampson, and recorded by American country music artist Carrie Underwood. It was released in October 2005 as the second single from Underwood's debut album Some Hearts. The ballad tells of a woman seeking help from Jesus in an emergency, ultimately letting Jesus take control of her life. The Country-Christian song became a crossover hit, spending time at number one on the Country chart as well as peaking at number four on the Hot Christian Songs chart. The song ranked number four on CMT's 40 Greatest Songs of the Decade.
We'll be spinning "Flowers on the wall" in honour of Don Reid's birthday (June 5th ), Donald Sidney "Don" Reid (born 1945 in Staunton, Virginia) is the retired lead singer and main songwriter of the American country music vocal group, The Statler Brothers. He wrote or co-wrote 40 of the Statler Brothers' 66 songs that made the Billboard country chart, including the No. 1 hit "Do You Know You Are My Sunshine." He did not write "Flowers on The Wall" (composed by the group's original tenor, Lew DeWitt), but the song peaked in popularity in January 1966, spending four weeks at No. 2 on the Billboard magazine Hot Country Singles chart, and reaching No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song was used in the soundtrack to the 1994 film Pulp Fiction and as the title theme of the 2001-2002 BBC Radio 4 sitcom Linda Smith's A Brief History of Timewasting.
